Bid on an exceptionally rare and important antique silver Dvaravati medal from the 12th century AD. This coin features on one side the sublime symbol of Purnakumbha, an overflowing pot representing prosperity, life, and fertility.

On the other side is a two-line inscription in Pallava script reading “Śrī Dvāravatīśvarapunya,” which means “merit of the King of Śrī Dvāravatī.”

The Dvaravati were an early Buddhist civilization that flourished in present-day Thailand from the 6th to the 14th centuries. Their elaborate artifacts testify to their rich cultural and spiritual history. This medal is tangible evidence of their devotion to the Buddhist faith and the prosperity of their kingdom.
